MY PASSION FOR THIS SITE

Birth of website - June 1999

After being around the funeral business for many years and still
doing personalized prayer cards for funeral directors, I felt a need
to do something for the K-9 & SAR Corps & War Dogs.  Each time a funeral for a working dog,
killed in the line of duty, (or of natural causes)  is on the television news, or in the newspapers,
I felt this passion.
As a result, I made this website. I wanted to supply cards for the K-9 heroes.
Who has given his/her life for an officer in the line of duty, has fallen in search of humans
 during disasters,
has guided and protected his master who is impaired.
A simple card for everyone who attends his honorable funeral or memorial service.
*A card to insert with 'thank you' notes for donations received from those who care,
be officers or civilians.
A card to give to friends to keep in remembrance of him/her.
A card to support the family who watched one get old and retire, and hopefully die of natural causes,
or having the courage to make the final decision for them.  Because they gave their all,
as long as they were able.
To give an officer and his family the needed support
in their time of sorrow.
To honor an officer and  "best friend, and partner."

*When monetary donations are sent in memory of partner's best friend,
which help cover the expense of a young, newly trained K9.
Cost may range  any where from $7,000 to more than $10,000.

REALIZATION
After donating cards and constantly up dating the loss of these marvelous animals over the years,
I finally have come to realize the following:
I know now that I rarely can be notified in time to get cards to the memorial or funeral services
for the partners of the K-9s.
I also realize that I cannot afford to donate the number of cards
needed for all those who attend these services, 200 to 300.....
As this website has taken a 'life of its own' I am reminded of the SAR, the military.
The WAR K-9s have also given their lives & are heroes. I added a link about these War Dogs.
I also have become so aware of the unselfish SAR handlers, years before Sept. 11, 2001.
The Search & Rescue handlers are always there to help.  They don't receive any compensation
for their equipment, upkeep of animals, or time.
If they are lucky, their employers do not 'dock'
their paycheck for time used away from the job.
"I will not give up on donations as long as I am able."
-  SO  -
As long as I am aware of these heroes, no matter if they leave us in the line of duty,
or luckily of old age & natural causes, I will do my best.
A special thanks to the funeral directors, pet shops, pet cemeteries, pet people
who purchase my cards, and also the group of veterinarians who order my cards to insert
with their sympathy cards, who say they receive so many thank you notes and calls..
These orders give me the funds to donate to others.  I send laminated and non laminated cards.
If available, I put the photo
of the K-9 on one side of the card.
I truly am relentless in trying to obtain photos.
I send by PRIORITY mail, or regular
depending on circumstances.
(I sincerely appreciate receiving e-mails or notes if I have helped yourpain.)
I  DO need help from you as to who, where, and when & how? I need addresses of the Police,
Sheriff & SAR location to mail.
Please e-mail any information at all!
